For the 2020 Round the Island Yacht race we will be entering our 40ft Bennetu
The annual Round the Island Race, organized by the Island Sailing Club, is a one-day yacht race around the Isle of Wight, an island situated off the south coast of England. The race regularly attracts over 1,400 boats and around 15,000 sailors, making it one of the largest yacht races in the world and the fourth largest participation sporting event in the UK after the London Marathon and the Great North and South Runs.
You will join the yacht on Thursday night and meet the skipper/instructor and the other crew. after a night on board You will be shown around the boat, and, after a safety, the briefing will set sail for our day’s training.
All Venture Sailing skippers are chosen for their experience, patience, and understanding. They will show you how to do everything from the beginning so that you are able to participate right from the start.
Although you will be working and exercising as part of a crew you will be given individual guidance and instruction. As each hour passes you will acquire new skills and grow in confidence.
The atmosphere aboard is relaxed and the emphasis is on having fun – exactly what sailing is supposed to be.

Friday – Training Day
Saturday – Race Day
Sunday – Relaxing sail, a great chance to practice your new racing skills.
